Diversity encompasses all the differences that make us unique, including but not limited to race, color, ethnicity, language, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, gender, socio-economic status, age and physical and mental ability.

Equity promotes fairness and justice while both challenging and responding to bias, harassment and discrimination.

Inclusion ensures equitable access to resources and opportunities for all. It pursues a culture where individuals and groups can feel safe, respected, heard, engaged, motivated and valued.

At the Mt. Prospect Park District, we are committed to creating and maintaining a culture that embraces, includes and respects all diversity in our community. We strive to be a welcoming environment that allows all patrons and staff to feel a sense of belonging and safety when utilizing services, attending events and programming and entering our facilities. We are dedicated to continuing educating ourselves and others on the topics of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, while listening to the needs of our community; together we are always learning.

Mental Health & Wellness

80% of us will experience a diagnosable mental health condition at some point in our lives. The stress and upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen mental health problems skyrocket. Thankfully, more and more people are seeking help, thus reducing the stigma of what is a normal human condition – it’s okay to not be okay.

As part of the DEI Philosophy and overall Mission of the District, the Mt. Prospect Park District strives to provide informational resources that enrich quality of life for current and future generations. In support of the Mental Health and Wellness of our community at large, kindly review and utilize, when needed, the mental heath resources listed here.
