Staff Testimonials
Cassie is a part-time RecPlex Center Director. Her role encompasses anything customer related; answering questions, assisting with program and membership registrations and acting as the liaison between patrons and staff. With a desire to enhance her customer service skills, Cassie has learned to respond rationally rather than emotionally to positively shape a patron interaction. Doing so allows her to positively influence the outcome in most situations. Cassie loves working with MPPD’s diverse community of patrons and staff. “The people are wonderful and the overall atmosphere is incredibly inviting, making each day enjoyable. My co-workers are amazing. Working here has been a valuable learning experience, allowing me to grow and develop in various ways.” Kayla works part-time in the Early Childhood department and has been a camp counselor for the past 4 years! “My favorite thing about being a camp counselor is getting to work with kids of all ages and ability levels. This job has helped prepare me for my future job as a teacher, as we have the opportunity to lead activities and create craft/game ideas. Even after a hard day, these kids are always guaranteed to make you smile.” One of her favorite parts about working at the park district is the community she’s formed with coworkers. “I have been able to grow positive relationships wit hall of my coworkers, and it has made the job a lot more fun. All staff are easy to communicate with, and everyone is always willing to help. I am so glad to be a part of this community.”

Rebecca has worked in the Aquatics department in a variety of roles over the last 4.5 years including Pool Manager, Lifeguard Instructor and Training Coordinator, Lifeguard and Swim Instructor. All of these experiences have led her to her current role as the full-time Aquatics Supervisor! Her favorite part of working for the Mt. Prospect Park District has been the privilege to work with all her friends. “The park district offers so many opportunities to take on more responsibilities and leadership opportunities and it has been so awesome seeing the people I grew up with become successful managers alongside myself. As the training coordinator, it was extremely important to me to continue to foster the positive growth environment to show staff the value in what they are doing for the community.” A favorite memory of hers as a summer lifeguard was working at Meadows Pool and walking over to Culver’s with her coworkers after their shift. “Sometimes we’d all come back and hangout at the pool for night swim hours. I met so many new friends and reconnected with so many others, those of which became friendships that have lasted for years.” Tyler is a part-time MPGC Shift Supervisor and Greensperson #2. He coordinates golf course shift operations, checks golfers in at the front desk, restocks the pro shop, washes and parks golf carts and more. Over the years, Tyler has grown in his customer service and problem solving skills. “Sometimes problems arise during your shift and it is your responsibility to solve it and make sure the customer is happy.” As a full-time firefighter and paramedic, Tyler is very grateful to his MPGC managers who allow him much flexibility with his schedule. “The golf course management is very tenured and provides a stable workplace for all staff that makes us want to continue working at the course.”
