The Mt. Prospect Park District is committed to making our community a better place to live, learn, work and play.

Parks & Recreation offer unique opportunities in which to advance diversity, equity and inclusion. By ensuring representation of diverse life experiences and voices, the Mt. Prospect Park District can better reflect the communities it serves.

Diversity encompasses all the differences that make us unique, including but not limited to race, color, ethnicity, language, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, gender, socio-economic status, age and physical and mental ability.

Equity promotes fairness and justice while both challenging and responding to bias, harassment and discrimination.
Inclusion ensures equitable access to resources and opportunities for all. It pursues a culture where individuals and groups can feel safe, respected, heard, engaged, motivated and valued.

The DEI commitment is ongoing; the work is not linear and cannot be defined by a beginning and an end. With a mission to provide exceptional parks and recreation experiences that enrich the quality of life for present and future generations, the Mt. Prospect Park District will continue to listen, learn and adapt in order to fulfill our mission.

The Mt. Prospect Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing equal opportunities to all qualified individuals.

Mental Health & Wellness

80% of us will experience a diagnosable mental health condition at some point in our lives. The stress and upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic has seen mental health problems skyrocket. Thankfully, more and more people are seeking help, thus reducing the stigma of what is a normal human condition – it’s okay to not be okay.

As part of the DEI Philosophy and overall Mission of the District, the Mt. Prospect Park District strives to provide informational resources that enrich quality of life for current and future generations. In support of the Mental Health and Wellness of our community at large, kindly review and utilize, when needed, the mental heath resources listed here.
